The retractable Pergola features a canvas cover which is suspended underneath an existing pergola structure.  The cover is attached to the underside of the existing rafters by means of an aluminium tracking system which has moulded plastic sliders and stainless steel saddles.

Aluminium 25mm x 1,2mm tube stringers supporting the canvas are sewn into pockets in the canvas at predetermined intervals/spacing depending on the finished drop requested for the Pergola.
This drop is the distance from the bottom of the rafter to the desired lowest point required when the canvas is folded back against the wall/mounting surface.  Pulleys, white rope and a white moulded cord cleat are used for the operating of the Pergola.

A 22mm x 44mm meranti baton is sewn into a pocket at the rear of the fabric which is used to secure the fabric to the mounting surface or the rear of the rafter. The edges of the fabric are hemmed (50mm) and normally a 250mm scallop/valance is attached to the front of the fabric.
